I'm looking to purchase a 8800gt, which is a pci 2.0. The only motherboards that support that seem to run in the 300$ area. So my question is, can a PCI x16 motherboard, support a PCI 2.0 gfx card?

I've been reading that even the new GT and 512MB GTS doesn't use the full bandwidth of old PCI-E 1.0.

So there is no point in getting 2.0 yet and yes a x16 board will be fine with 2.0 cards. My System: Hybr!d
