Short answer is yes you can but i don't (personally) know of any way using just the s-video due to bandwidth constraints. Same with the coaxial connector.
i would think it's possible your laptop may have the ability already. You should double check through your laptop manual or ports on the unit to see if it has a VIDEO-IN or VIVO videocard(s). If not you'll need a PCMCIA tv tuner card There are also USB video capture and tv tuner boxes which you can use to do what you are trying to do. Again, re bandwidth, your laptop would need USB 2.0 ports. Bear in mind that the speed of your USB port and laptop architecture will determine how feasible it will be to play games using these devices. The latency between the input signal and it's display on the monitor can, at times, exceed a second, which as i'm sure you know, would make playing a racing game or a first person shooter rather difficult to play to say the least. You can also connect your ps2 to enable you to play games online. you need to connect your ps2 to a router via an ethernet cable. Then you need to use the network access disc to create an account on your ps2. (If you don't have a disk you may still be able to acquire one direct from Sony). You shouldn't have to toggle any settings if you already go online with your laptop. But with my experience of home networks, whether cabled or wireless, i wouldn't count on it being without its problems. You'll also need a game that allows you to play online. Hope this has helped.

it is the Alienware Aurora m9700
in the manual it lists the ports on the back, one says s-video in and one saying s-video out thats as good as the manual gets :( are there any other ports that i can use so that i can use my laptop just as a monitor? |

I've had a nosey around and as it stands you're not going to be able to do it as the only video input you have is the s-video and it won't work using that.
You're going to need to purchase a card as stated above, but considering the cost of such things and the delays i've quoted above, personally, i think it would be a waste of money. Of course, thats your decision to make. I realise that's not what you wanted to hear, but i'm obligated to give you my honest opinion.
