I was wondering if it is possible to use the mouse, keyboard and monitor of my laptop to run my desktop computer? i have already experimented with the likes of WinVNC and did not find the results any good. Thanks in advance.

Not quite sure what you are trying to do.

It basicly lets you control another computer from anywhere in the world for free.
