As with everything else in the computer world, there are choices when it comes to printers. You have the basic toner printer that mostly does black and white copies and is usually faster. Then you have the Inkjets that usually have better quality but slower output. Ink is usually less than $20 and toner is sometimes over $100. Are lasers really worth it?

I personally use a Ink jet and I don't think its that slow at all.
I currently have a HP psc 1215 which is a scanner, printer and photocopier. I love it, its definitely the best printer I have had, been very reliable so far. The cartridges are not the cheapest in the world but they last a while. To answer your question I think laser printers are better for printing bulk? If I am correct, they use them in schools as it's cheaper? |

Ink jet for home use, laser for office/high use.
