Hey guys and girls, got a problem with my Toshiba laptop.

My laptop crashed and a blue screen came up said to restart computer, did so and then it crashed again only this time it wouldn't load up windows.

Decided to use the recovery disc but this only gets to about 20% and says loading remaining NTFS MFT files and then goes no futher.

So am screwed,if anyone can help me out I would be grateful.

Cheers

Do you no is there a restore partition on the laptop or is the restore actually being done from the disk?

Hey, thats not the problem anymore, left it a half hour and tried again and it worked long enough to install windows again. It just seems now to be running a lot slower than usual. Windows Media Player 11 took about 10 mins to install. Have 3 year old laptop so not that out of date. Making (as best as I can describe) a very quite "cheep" noise, like when you hold down too many keys on the keboard but quieter. Also its making hard disc reading sounds all the time but again abit quieter and all the time (very annoying).

Thanks for the interest.

you may have your OS installed twice. i suppose the good thing about that is you can recover your files
