| just installed new power supply and everything boots up and im on it for like 5 mins and then just randomly shuts down just seein if anyone has any ideas or similar problems. |

| i installed a 450 watt. the compter ran for 2 years with a 280w i put this in and it just randomly shuts off any in depth ideas |

| suggest you download a thermal monitor and check or look in your bios for the temps, shut down usually occurs around 60 degrees c, which is pretty damn hot for a pc, also check that the fans have a flow in one direction i.e they suck the air from outside into the pc from the front and the rear they are blowing from the pc to the outside. if they are all blowing in there is no airflow. it could well be that you removed the processor to get the power supply in and never replaced the heatsink properly or used heatsink paste Last edited by willnrach : 22-01-2008 at 09:31 PM. |

| i checked my bios and i had shutdown emp disabled and it still did it. In the bios the cpu fan sped was around 3240 rpms and the sys fan speed ws around 2200 does that explain anything and anyother ideas |
