I have recently been reading up about DICE(Dry Ice overclocking) so decided to give it a whirl.
Over the next few weeks I will be testing out various CPU's to the extreme
I managed to get my hands on a DICE pot and now all I need is some acetone and dry ice and im ready to go
The following CPU's will be tested and more later on
Intel CPU's
Pentium 4 640
E2220

AMD CPU's
Opteron 165
3500+

A few pics

Wow, wouldn't like to be sat next to that..

Just out of interest though what's the average min operating temp for CPU's?

It may not be an issue now I spose, but as cooling methods get more and more extreme it will surely play a part in how far you can OC..

Its dependent on the CPU type really, some have cold bugs, but that usually doesn't effect them until they are -100*C or so

Remind me not to buy any CPUs off you after you have fried the nuts off them!

Sound like a fun project.

surely at those temps you get issues with condensation when it starts to warm back up?

but looks pretty sweet though, something id like to try if i had the time any money!

Cheaper than watercooling then.

(If you base it on cooling the CPU only, no other components.)
