I recently ordered a barebone kit, it includes, case, motherboard, cpu and 2 gigs of ddr2 ram. I'm moving over the rest of the components from my other comp, hard drive, dvd drive, and a nvidia 8800 GTX 768MB .
I however did not look into the cpu specs as much as I should have, mainly because I was ordering on one site, didn't work out, got frustrated and quickly ordered from another without checking to make sure it came with the same exact parts. The processor I am getting with it is an Athlon64 X2 4600+ Dual Core 1 mb cache, ARGGGG. Was wondering if you guys think it's worth it to stick with it, or possibly upgrade. (this is somewhat of a secondary computer however, not looking for extreme results, but want to make sure it won't hurt me in COD4) Thx a bunch guys!

COD4 is primarily dependent on a good gpu, so, depending on your resolution, you'll be fine. It's a decent gaming cpu.

If you're gaming at 1680x1050 (20-22") or above you'll struggle if you enable AA/AF and high detail settings.
