My newly built computer likes to shut down randomly, usually right during boot up or if I start playing a video game. Why is this? I doubt it would be overheating since my case is well ventilated.

My mobo is ASUS P5N32-E SLI, Core2Duo CPU, Thermaltake Armor case, Thermaltake 700W PSU, HITACHI deskstar HDD.

Thanks

By connection do you mean the clips into the mobo? Or what?
Because im pretty darn sure the fan is clipped in.

Run TAT in the background under load conditions (game, or hit the 100% load button). See if your temps get high. This is really the most common cause of your shutdown problem - you pointed out in the OP that you don't think it's that but just make sure.

Usually I'd say it's a PSU deal, but 700W is more than enough.

Check your wiring - make sure everything is securely plugged. A slight nudge, a fan spooling up, whatever could jostle a connector out of place if they're not secure.
