I am highly interested in this little gadget. I say little gadget, it's a £120 wired/wireless mouse..

Just wondering if anyone here has used one or whether they know of any big faults that appears with them? I have seen a battery issue that they had but a firmware upgrade swiftly fixed this. Apart from that, it would seem Razer have managed to create something most wonderful and since I love gaming and I love wireless mice, this seems really good for me. I held a Death Adder once and found it comfortable and since this is basically the same, it should also be pretty comfy.

for those of you that don't know and may be interested, the Razer Mamba is a new Razer mouse designed for wireless gaming at an identical speed to a wired mouse and is hot swappable between wired and wireless. It also boasts a range of features for gamers, adaptable for other uses.

would you really pay 120 pounds for a mouse?

i paid like 18 bucks. a gigabyte 800/1600 dpi wired gaming mouse.
its fine for gaming.

on their website it said the mamba had 5600dpi resolution, isnt that getting a bit high? unless you like your mouse going from one side of the screen to the other with the lightest of touches.....

Unfortunately I'm sad enough to pay £120 for a mouse..

I just hate having a wired mouse, I used a Logitech LX5 for ages and ages and I'd use it some more if I had batteries.. but I loved every second of it. Since my mouse mat has a stupid USB attachment at the top, I lose a few mm from the cable getting in the way. Sod's law states that I need that last 2mm to shoot a guy or put a paintbrush where I want it. I just like the wireless freedom and since it's able to be wired in a flash then I don't have to die for 3 rounds while I raid the house for batteries or lose my rhythm in photoshop..

True though that 5600 dpi is a *tad* ott, I'm sure I can find a use for it if not, just lower it to a remotely usable level =P

You can't just say its too much without relating it to the size of screen and the resolution of that screen.

It'd be a lot quicker side to side on a 800x600 than it would on an " x || Xtr33Mee GAm3Rzz || x " 5million x 3million res.

5000000 by 3000000 pixels.. And you'd need a graphics card how big to run something like Crysis at full resolution? haha

I use a 1680 x 1050 (So close to 1080!) so it'd be pretty quick I'd say, nothing that I cant fix my going through the Vista control panel and spending 3 hours looking for "Mouse"..

Probably fairly large.

Edit:

Have fun with the drivers for it..

No I meant for the GPU handling 5milx3mil

But I guess with a mouse that fancy drivers may be a bit unstable.. Wait a bit and see what people say about it.

I'll go raid Google.. Never heard of a problem but since I'll be on 64 bit vista, compatibility is an issue..

Edit: All seems fine and dandy on the driver front. Firmware and drivers are now 64 bit capable =D

You got a link Razer? I was going to wait till the Logitech G9x comes out then get that, but I prefer wireless for the same reasons as you (I used to use a Logitech MX1000 Laser, but the left mouse button doesn't work properly any more) so this might be the answer for me, although a little expensive, I'll have to see.
