i bought a refurbished pc for £200 from a magazine that guarantees its advertisement's ok.
ive had it about 8 months and it blew the power supply,so had it apart and fitted a new one now works fine again.
refurbished? i think not as the inside was caked with dust and other crud that would have taken at least a few years to accumulate.
its a hp 7100 which i think is haunted anyway,it will not shut down every time i want it to what ever fixes are done to it,it seems to be able to edit the registry with no help from me downloads disappear into oblivion for some reason.
not going to buy refurbished ever again just build new custom stuff for what suits me.
so beware of second-hand and if you do, have a look inside and make sure its clean.

Wise words. To be honest with the prices new PCs are these days I see no need buying second hand.

Like they say cheap buy is expensive buy. Don't blame you cause if you don't have money what does one do? But new ones you get better results I guess. Sorry to hear anyway

My PC is less than a year old and is very dusty inside - it purely depends on the location of the machine. You've had it 8 months anyway so it's 8 months as well as how long you've had it for dust to accumilate.

I don't know, most refurbished laptops are good when newer models... they just get the refurbished label because a customer returned it and it had to be restored to the original settings.
This laptop I'm on is refurbished and I did a quick scan and was able to recover some rather personal files...
