None of my stuff is overclocked, but I have a Q6600, 2GB DDR2 800MHZ PC6400 RAM, and an 8600GTS (512MB Memory 2GHZ Clock spped) GFX card. Surely I should be getting more than around 6k 3d marks? I know it's not the best and would be better if OC'd - ...

Tom

EDIT: O yeah - It's the basic version of 3d Mark and it does rubbish on CPU 1 and 2 tests - Only about 1 - 2 FPS!

I'd imagine 3dmark is pretty GPU dependent and a 8600GTS is not exactly mega spec.

Yea, it is very graphic intensive, atleast thats what I found when I did it. Just a little off topic, but how do oyu find the actual score when you run it? Do you need to buy the program to find it?

Rubbish on CPU tests is normal. My OC'd E6400 gets about 1FPS, and even the 8xxx and quads don't do much better.

If you post your CPU score alone, that might help, but it's likely just to be your graphics card.

Default Rubbish 3D Mark 06 Score

At christmas time I was going to recieve an 8800GTX. I then noticed that the 8800GTS and GT were on the market. I have decided to wait. I am still running 2x X1950pro in crossfire and can run Crysis fine. On mid setts admittedly and only on a relatively low res but it runs sweet at about 20-30fps.
I currently get around 9-10k on 3D mark 06 which until I get me sticky fingers out of my pocket and part with some hard cash will suffice.
Me thinks the 8800GTS will be the 1 I eventually go for but I am just hanging on...... ATI man and all.............
