Default Screensaver and Optical Mouse 4000 Problem

hi,
I am using a Microsoft Optical mouse 4000 on my Acer Aspire 1640 laptop. The problem is when it is plugged in my screensaver will not work. I have updated the mouse drivers and installed the patch for this problem from the Microsoft site. However the problem persists.
Has anyone experienced this, and been able to resolve it??

Thanks

The only thing I can think of is that your mouse sensitivity is set to high. You could try to reduce it by going to control panel and selecting the mouse icon
