hi,
I am using a Microsoft Optical mouse 4000 on my Acer Aspire 1640 laptop. The problem is when it is plugged in my screensaver will not work. I have updated the mouse drivers and installed the patch for this problem from the Microsoft site. However the problem persists.

hi,
I am using a Microsoft Optical mouse 4000 on my Acer Aspire 1640 laptop. The problem is when it is plugged in my screensaver will not work. First thing I would try is updating all usb devices not just the mouse
|

Thanks, but the mouse is the only usb device that i use on this laptop.

Screensaver and Optical Mouse 4000 Problem
The only thing I can think of is that your mouse sensitivity is set to high. You could try to reduce it by going to control panel and selecting the mouse icon
