Hey, just wondering if this will work for games like GTA IV, Crysis and other new games on High. I'm a pretty hardcore gamer, but my computer is really slowing me down.

Processor
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 Yorkfield 2.66GHz 4MB L2 Cache LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Processor - Retail
Mobo
ASUS P5Q3 DELUXE/WIFI-AP CH1-11 LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
PSU

Tuniq Ripper PSU-RIP1000W-BK 1000W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Retail

Graphics Card
EVGA 896-P3-1260-AR GeForce GTX 260 896MB 448-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail
Hard Drive
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3250410AS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - OEM
Case
Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail
All of this totals out to $1,263.90 Including:Mouse,Keyboard,DVD Drive and Monitor. Excluding 85$ in rebates,
So any thoughts? Mainly i want to know if this will run what i want.
Thanks.

I have to say i find this build rather neat
Should play crysis on high pretty smooth i know mine does and i only have a Pentium D820 Running at 3.2GHz and a Gainward 9600GT.
Crysis is one of the most demanding games out there so if it can play crysis smoothly on high or even very high it can play any game.

I have to disagree with carbon... hes just saying that because its not as good as his

Holy cow is that stupid Xeon. On so many levels. Here's your sign.

Your build isn't better than mine and I'd say he could do better for his money than that.

Try actually READING the hardware guide and perhaps you may learn something. Hopefully Scoobis will.

CPU & Mobo arn't all that bad, but questionable for a "Hardcore gamer"

Everything else is shoddy

Personally, can't wait for Guide #4

Yet you feel the need to include your own specs in your post - who seems overly fixated on what they have rather than giving real advice here? I've been giving advice on these forums to combat the stupid LOL UR RIG ISN'T XTREME AS MINE stuff on the rest of the internet for over a year, don't bother butting in here to make drive-by posts about how everyone giving advice is simply 'jealous' because while that may work at [H]ardOCP where everyone gets forum e-cred because of how much money they spend on horrible parts that give them no gain but are expensive that doesn't work here.

The PSU is overkill, the hard drive is slow and small for how much he is spending, the case is poor, the graphics card could be upgraded to a better one within budget, the CPU is outclassed by a Phenom II, and it's simply a very poorly budgeted build in general.

Are you guys for real...
I was mearly explaining that his build is better than mine as clearly shown by his specs. Clearly i was explaining that if my build can play crysis and other games okay, then his build should outperform itself. Therefore agreeing the fact that his build is good for hardcore gaming.

Wherever your getting all this gibberish from i do not know.
And when i said carbon is just saying that because its not as good as his, was a joke. Seriously no need to get unhappy about a little bit of advice, read my post again and you might find i was not giving any underated advice...

as if ya's have something against me

To finish my input on this matter the OP simply asked if the spec he provided was good enough to play games.

At least my reply was on topic...unlike others who's only intent was to flame..

The OP did not ask anyone here to provide him with individual opinions nor their preferences on what they consider more for his bucks.

So i suggest Bubba & Carbon ...that if you cannot offer an input that is relevant to the OP question you should get a life and refrain from trolling me and waffling BS.

In my time here ive noticed the same old people more intent on flaming other users than actually helping anyone.Maybe admin/mods can curtail you sad individuals as you both make the forum look like its full of petty arrogant assholes.....however it pleases me that you think im a worthy target to flame..but i can assure you im indifferent to donks so my ego is unaffected
