I've got my 98 machine to work, but it's a little slow. Especially when streaming video on things such as youtube. My friend showed me this video streaming thing that speeds it up, but it won't work because this machine is a 98. The sound is fine but the video doesn't run smoothly.

Is there anything I can download(this machine is a 98) or is it worth buying a new graphics card or RAM(though not if it's expensive).

RAM is the easiest an most effective way of speeding it up.

That is assuming the OS isn't riddled with viruses and spyware.

I guess I'll see how cheap I can get some RAM. It's only got 128 mb. I hope it doesn't cost too much.

Download CPU-Z, google it.

It will tell you what type of ram your mobo can handle. Search the interweb for your paticular ram.

Or you could just download it from the download section here

A system with 128mb is relatively powerful compared to some machines I've used youtube with (32mb pentium I lol). Definitely look at defragging, disabling any unnecessary startup programs (start, run, type msconfig and go to the startup tab) and checking out for viruses and spyware like dave says. If you havent got too much stuff on there you wanna keep then you could do a clean install of 98 but if not, just get the ram, it's cheap enough.
