howdy. in spite of the raging bushfires not even a half an hour drive from our house im posting.

are these specs any good??

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600

Asus P5QL-E

Inno3D 512mb nVidia 9800GT

Western Digital 320gb

4gb Kingston DDR-2 800

CoolerMaster Extreme 550watt

Asus VW220T 22'' LCD


i have an old case i can use (dont care about looks) and i have a dvd drive as well.

what i want to know is can i get better for equal or less money?
that system detailed costs AU$1096/US$722/GBP£492

is the Q6600 better than the newer and cheaper Q8200? the

actually scrub the asus moniter.
Benq E2200HD 21.5'' LCD. 2ms response and 1920x1080 res

PSU blows up, you're cheating yourself with the overspecced CPU and underspecced GPU. Try to get up to a 4850, if you can't pull the processor down to a 7750+ BE or E5200 or E7300 or something.

and also which ram would be best? kingston, pny, transcend, patriot, gskill or team?
all are ddr2-800.

and video cards, inno3d, palit or gainward?

sorry for all the questions, im gonna have this computer for awhile, so i wanna make sure its right.

The Basiq is the best of the three, but like I said it's not that great.

RAM brand doesn't matter, just pick what's more highly reviewed/has better heatsinks/warranty/timings.

Same thing with the video cards.
