I finally put something together after skimming the web for two days, tell me what you think of my gamming rig, what I can improve performance wise? without adding to much to the budget...

System VISTA 775
Motherboard S775 ASUS P5N32-SLI PREMIUM NF590 PCIE SLI
Processor INTEL CORE 2 QUAD Q6600 2.40G/1066/8M/S775

Memory CORSAIR 800MHZ DDR2 NO-ECC 2048MB TWINX

Hard Drive 500.0 W.D 7200 16M WD5000AAKB

Power Supply 620W POWER ATX ENERMAX LIBERTY 24PIN

Optical Drive DVD DRIVE 16X LG IDE GDR-H30N OEM BLK BLACK

Operating System MS-WIN VISTA HOME PREMIUM X64 DVD OEM EN 1PK (what does 1pk in vista stand for?)

Video Card ASUS PCIE GF8 EN8800GTX 768M BOX 8800GTX

before I even started to add anything they charged me $400 just for a vista 775 title...what is that about?? assembly fee? lol

Would this be a something I can play crysis with very smoothly? could this rig be considered future-proof?

thanks for all the help guys, you saved me a lot of time and probably money.

Just to allay any fears or doubts, out of the box this will be a hot gaming machine at anything upto a resolution of 1920x1200.

Improvements? Yeah, a couple. Get rid of the WD drive and swap for a Samsung T166 500gb (faster at loading games). Also, why the 64bit version of Vista? Granted it's i/o mapping allows for more ram usage over the 32 bit, but you'll find even less games fully supported by the 64 bit version. Did they spec that or you?

The "1pk" simply refers to the fact it's one disc and license.

The 590 chipset on the mobo isn't a bad one in the least. Hope you intend on going dual card in the future though or it will be a waste. Saying that this board is rather cheap nowadays so it does provide good bang for buck. Not a bad overclocker as well, should you ever go that route. (The Q6600 is a fine oc'ing cpu).
