hi, i got a lcd tempresure monitor for my computer off ebay
, i want to monitor the temp of my cpu. the tempresure monitor has a wire coming from it which i assume is the tempresure censor. would it be ok to wedge the censor between the heatsink and cpu or would it melt or something.

It would be a bad idea to do so, as the cpu and hsf need to be making perfect contact, but as close as possible would suffice, I use to have mine wedged into the fins of the hsf, and judge that the temps would be around 5c colder by using core temp first
