Default Turning on auto detect for hardware?

Hi Guys is there a way to turn on the auto detect on xp pro?
I stupidly checked the box that said don't detect any new devices in future and then even worse I clicked ok!

Go to My Computer>right click your drive>Properties>AutoPlay.

I couldnn't actually see an option for hardware monitoring
Maybe it's not an option?

As far as I know auto play is for how windows deals with software only, not hardware.
(i.e. you put in a DVD and windows auto launches Media Center).
