Hi all, new here (obviously, lol)
I have just bought a Dell Inspiron 530S desktop computer, which is yet to arrive. I shall be hooking it up to the lcd tv in my living room and using that as the monitor. I was just wondering about tv tuner cards. I would like an internal one rather than a USB adapter one, as i imagine an internal one would give better results. Will there be any compatibility issues, as this is a slimline computer? Also if you can recommend any brands i should look for or avoid i would really appreciate it. Thanks, Chris |

Compatibility with Windoze Media Edition is an issue, look at the compatibility guide at M$. I have a Cinergy USB hybrid that is great as its analogue end is a capture card. An internal Hauppauge card is not even compatible with Nero Home!

Thanks for the reply Mike.
I was actually looking at the internal hauppauge cards earlier, they seemed a popular choice but i didnt know that about its Nero issues. |

The WinTV Nova T is listed as supported, but I have one and it isn't. Mind you, they have gone through some versions and mine is an old one. The software is identical to the Technotrend Budget and Linux identifies it as the same. Anyway, there is a list of compatible TV cards there for what it is worth. Probably best to check M$' hardware compatibility list too.
