sorry thats a mouthfull and for the big lettering im in a slight rush, but recently it just ceased to work... basically just died. at first i thought it was the power unit, so i replaced the power unit, and i hear the power unit start up and the hard drive spin, but the motherboard wont do anything just silent, the fans wont spin on the motherboard aswell. is that the motherboard has died??

UPGRADE
im planning on upgrading it 512mb ddr to a OCZ 4GB PC2 6400 SLI and switching the motherboard to a AMD X2 7750 with CPU supplied. Would you know if the upgrade i have proposed is compatible with each other?? (I.E the OCZ 4GB and motherboard AMD X2 7750)

Thank you in advance for any information and help you can give

P.S hints and tips would also be appreciated

It sounds like your mobo is dead, but it could be your processor also. it would help troubleshooting if you had a processor to swap out. Do you smell a burnt smell coming from the mobo? Did you ensure all of the cables etc are fitted properly?

There was no burning smell as far as i can remember, i made sure all connection were fully in correctly before turning the power on, i have given it a new power unit, and checked the hard drive is ok. only thing that doesnt seem to get power is the motherboard.

If the new PSU sucks it could be that too, processors don't suddenly die, it's either that or the motherboard.
