| This is building a computer, per se, so I apoligise if its in the wrong section but it seems close enough to the subject. So, starting things off, my current specs: Intel Core2Duo E4500 @ 2.2Ghz Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT 2 GB of RAM ASUS P5GC-MX/1333 Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit Realtek High Definition (Onboard Sound) WDC WD3200AAKS (HDD) ATAPI DVD A DH20A4P ATA Device (DVD Drive) If you need any other specs, let me know. I mostly use my computer for high intensity gaming, and make sure anything you suggest is in the $200 price range as I don't have much money at the moment. So, any suggested upgrades to my system? I'm buying 4 GB of RAM this weekend (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231166). On a side note, is that RAM compatible with my MoBo? I'm pretty sure it is, but just want clarification. But, yeah. Suggestions? |

| RAM should be fine. Check out Carbon's thread on building gaming PC's, however in your case you can just look at the stuff individually, rather than the set out options for "Budget", "High-end" etc. Also, I think he's planning on making a new one soon, so if you can hold out for an updated version then no doubt you could pick up some good info. 3 Things catch my eye as worth upgrading: DVD drive, just general really, not all that important specifically for gaming so long as it reads fairly fast Proccessor, is fairly slow for someone who says they're in to "High intensity gaming" PSU, you don't even mention it, which I presume means its pants. Mobo as well at some point in the future, but wth your current budget, I'd hold out on it, and get a couple of the above for now.
