Acer Aspire1353XC. Only one of 4 sockets working then only by using powered hub. How to test/find out what is wrong with them?
Can anyone point me to info on internal USB system as device manager says there are many hubs and outlets, how do you know which hub/socket is which in device manager? Sometimes get message devices would work faster if used in USB 2.0 but as far as new all are USB2.0? |

Try uninstalling all the Hubs and USB Controllers in Device Manager, then reboot the system.

Thanks for that PhilThomas, tried it but still same.
Anyone any ideas where I can find info on subject, device manager shows 4 root hubs, 3 host controllers and 1 enhanced host controller, when I plug in my powered hub that shows up as generic hub but at top of list off universal host controllers. No indication of what controls which and no idea which sockets id from where. Also still puzlle of occasional message saying to use USD 2 port as accessories will run faster, thought they were all USB 2. I have searched and searched but cannot find any decent info on this. Acer just want money and my machine, can afford neither at minute. Thanks again. |
