Default Want a Wireless Mouse Suitable for Work and Amateur Gaming

Hey,

I'm going to get more into gaming on my PC, rater than just my X360, but before I do, I want to be reasonably well equipped.

I hate wires.

Absolutely NO for a wired mouse.

So for general work that's fine, and I would probably buy
Microsoft Wireless laser Mouse 6000

However, I realise the main issue for gaming with wireless mice is speed, so I wan one fairly quick. But the Razer Mamba is unfortunatly waay out of my price range.

I'm looking for something about £40 - will I get any better than the MS one not designed for gaming for that sort of price?

Also number of buttons, is 5 mouse buttons suffecient?

Thanks,

Fordy.

And YRTNEG, I'd appreciate it if you didn't post, or only if it's constructive and helpful.
ie.
Don't tell me wireless mice are crap for gaming.
Don't tell me I need at least 5000 buttons.
Don't tell me that before even considering it I need a 3000 x 2200 resolution.
Don't tell me anything else irritating.

And most importantly:
Do Not tell me you are a PRO gamer.

And BTW, please don't take this personally :)

Everyone else, excuse the rant

Done some self-researc and I think I will get it.

I read some reviews that said it's great for gaming, gliding smoothly, the only problem being the non-ratchetong scroll wheel - an issue for weapon selecting.

Dude, I game. I have gamed for all my life lol and I an OLD. I played pong when it was a top of the line TABLE model game at an arcade. You see all those retro games they sell now or have at arcades? I whupped them when they were NEW. I made Pacman scream and Ms Pacman was MY bitch. I made her call me daddy. I tamed donkey kong. Mario was a little boy when I started playing. I don't think his brother Luigi was born yet................ (are you impressed yet lol)

Before I got my Razer (which sucks) I had a wireless MS mouse that cost maybe 10 or 20 bucks. It worked GREAT. i miss that mouse, but it didn't have drivers that would work with Vista. A wireless mouse as opposed to a wired GAMING mouse like a razer, is as important as a quad core over a dual core processor lol. Now a wireless keyboard just won't get it. You run/walk three steps and then stop, but there is no problem with a wireless mouse. Of course, I'm handicapped. I'm left handed so they don't make 6 million buttoned wired gaming mice for us left handers. Razer lied in their advertising saying this Lachesis I spent WAY too much money on was interchangeable for left or right hand.

EDIT: I just clicked your link. I HATE you. I wish they made ergonomic mouses (mice?) for us lefties.

In short, get your cheap wireless Microsoft mouse. You will love it. (You will STILL suck at your game and I will STILL PWN you at will lol).

Oh and if you are switching to PC gaming, get COD WAW. Then you can get on servers I play on and we can kill each other and talk poop lol.

mx revolution all the way. its more of a luxury mouse but its good for evrthing. battery can last up to 17 days, tons of button that can be programed, excellent distance, feels great, and set up is easy. plug in and go. its just that simple. no software needed to use.

Thanks, but I think I'm gonna get the MS one, seeing as Bubba agrees as well.

If that mouse only last 17 days, then quite frankly that is totally pants!

That would mean replacing the batteries 20 times a year!!

The mouse in the office gets replaced probably 3 times a year. And the one I am using now, still shows full battery after a few weeks.
