Hold the phone. You say your mouse and keyboard don't work? That may be your problem. Try plugging in the mouse and keyboard you are using for the computer you are using to communicate here with and see what happens. If that doesn't help I am officially beyond the limited knowledge I have lol.

That still doesn't make sense though, BIOS doesn't need the driver for your fancy gaming mouse and keyboard and even windows should boot up with it. My G15 booted up fine although it didn't work with all the features until I installed the drivers. I think I'm back to, hell, I dunno.

Sorry. I tried.

Stick the CD Drive in Sata 1 (I think thats what its called.)

Make sure the power conenctor is fully connected.

Make sure the disk is actually in the drive.

Go into the BIOS and go into SATA options or something and there should be an option to chose the SATA mode.... Make sure it is set to IDE.

That bit is important.

Turn the PC off and on again and it should start loading the OS.

If that doesn't work try a different SATA cable and a different port on the motherboard.

Then test your CD in another computer and see if it will boot from it.

I will download your motherboard manual and tell you exactly what you need to change... I am pretty sure I know what the problem is.

Don't give up, you will get it working

Right. I think this is your problem.

Go into the BIOS

Navigate to Integrated Perhipherals

Go to the second option down where it says SATA Port0-1 Native Mode

Press Enter when you are selecting it and change it to Enabled

Then check that the boot order is still correct (CD Drive first)

Then press F10 and choose to save and exit.

Fingers crossed XP will start installing next time. You should hear the CD drive spin up after the motherboard has posted (self checked itself.)
