This is what im getting

https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/M...spx?ID=6790045

tell me if the link dont work... IM getting the 2 120mm fans for the CPU heatsink. Im guna get an 80mm to 120mm fan adapter. 1 optic drive is strictly for reading fast, the other is strictly for burning fast. I want a good DVI cable cuz im guna get a monitor with some insaine resolution on day (hence the 1GB VRAM GPU cards) and last, i want the raptor HDD for the OS only(so my PC boots up faster) and other essential things. The 640 is for videos( cuz fraps uses a lot of memory with its AVI) games (since i have a ton) and music, etc. so with all that explined (so you dont ask why) what do you think of my new build idea?

really for anything over a extreme budget build I would wait for Nehalem. the entry level processor will be a $284 multi-threaded 45nm quad with QuickPath, etc.

otherwise, only get 1GB VRAM if you have use for it. 99% of the time you won't. i would say 100% of the time but I find myself running out of VRAM on my dual monitor setup once in a while when running two graphics-intensive apps. but really it's not necessary..even 1920x1080 will run fine.

titanium sound card = ripoff, the xtremegamer is the same thing.

edit: there is also no such thing as a "good" DVI cable. the one that comes with the monitor will be fine.

well, considering i want a monitor like this
http://www.provantage.com/doublesigh...w~4DBLE00M.htm

i think the 1GB VRAM will help. I know the sound card is near the same thing, but the fact is i need the 2 PCI slots for something else, so with that said i need a sound card with PCI-E 1x so that i can use the 2 PCI slots.

Ah, OK. For some reason, I see you as having two PSUs? I also think the 750W is only like $10 more than the 650W, but IIRC it has the same 12V rail as the 650W, just a boost on 5V, like that's going to help. So looks good.

Also, I think it would be worth the money to get a 4870 Xfire setup. If you couldn't afford that, a P45 board with a 4870X2 would also stay around the same price or less. If not, though, what you have will work great.

odd. For some reason it doesn't have any PSU in it now. for that matter, items in my wish list are dissapeering...And i did my research on the 4850 vs 4870. long story short, there are basically the same card. Right down to the specs, only 1-2% different from each other, and have nearly the same performance. the only big difference is the price.

edit- here is a link that everyone should be able to see http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=6790045

I'll tell you one thing, and that is the 4850 runs hellish hot. Likle 90 -100 degrees.

Google 4850 temperatures.

Otherwise its a great card.

4870 is a little cooler.
