I have a HP t4.. something, but It's broke at the moment. So the computer I am currently using is a Sony I don't know were to find the model name.

I know its a old computer though as it's a piece of **** but that's another story.

I would like one custom built for me but they are probably expensive.

Its no more expensive than going to a superstore and buying a brand name.

Drop me a PM if you ever what something priced up.

I will keep that in mind, as a mate offered to build me one for like 400 pound with really good stuff in it, but my mum said no because what if something stopped working and theres no warranty.

So she went and bought one from the shop and got ripped off... Oh also I broke the warranty anyway!

My favorite and cheapest computer was a desktop put topgether by a local store that assembled the componants that you wanted.

These days I tend to buy a basic standard package. My desktop is Dell because I was very poor after moving to the US and they were the only place offering a basic word cruncher machine for under $300 delivered. I am under no illusions that it is a qualioty machine ut it does what I need. It seems to have a cooling issue so I always leave it turned off and unplugged when not in use.

Then when I had banked a few paycehcks I got a Toshiba satellite laptop. I always go with Toshiba for laptops as I need only basic specs and their price is pretty good--also they are very robust. I have two old toshibas that still work but are obsolete beyond the point where upgrading would be sensible.

I built my own computers one for gaming and creating 3D work and graphic design, the other is for running 3D light simulations/3D Rendering.

A custom built or home build is a far better computer. Large computer makers use cheap parts for the bits that buyers don't worry about and then slap on a huge extra cost.

When I buy my parts I get the choice of any so I can build anything I can think off so big brand computers are easy to beat on performance and looks. Each part comes with warranty as standard theirs no extra to pay for warranty. Some parts have three years warranty.

A good make is Boxxtech for high end media production and proper support. I can save hundreds building my own with the same spec though.
Dell comes second but many make the mistake of buying a media or office computer for gaming.

£400 for a computer might sound good but it wont run the latest games. Some of the cheaper brand computers have the usless Intel graphics chips and no slots to upgrade the graphics chips. Theirs loads of these guys in the support forums for games sites complaining about poor performance or the game wont run. The advice normally is buy a gaming computer and spend more this time.

I currently have a Dell Dimension 400, but I'm about to build my own. Here are the stats:

1gb RAM
160GB Hdd
AMD 3500+
GeForce 7300GT
19" Plasma Screen

I'm going to use that computer for mostly everything. Gaming and work included. I'm planning on learning some 3DS Max and hopefully that machine can hold it's own against it.

I first had a Dell, which lasted five years. Then I ordered a custom build PC online and ended up returning it two days later. I wasn't happy with how they built it. I then ordered my own parts online and put it together myself.

By doing this, I was able to make an even more powerful computer for less money. It plays games very well, so I am really happy with it.
