Default What kind of computer do you have?

I have used a Dell computer for about 4 years now, but now it is time to say goodbye and get a new one. Now I am just going to upgrade this one manually and add parts.

I would recommend that you build a computer yourself, it is cheaper and you know more about it. However, if you do not know much about computers, then I guess that Dell would probably be the best choice for you.

Home - Self built Pentium P4 3.2 (Getting on a bit now)

Car - Self built from a second hand Dell, 7" widescreen touch screen installed in the dash, running Sat Nav, DVD, Video, and MP3's. Haven't bothered with radio as I prefer my own music.

My first was a Dell Dimension2400 which I got Jan.2005. (I was a late starter with computers.) I am currently using one I built myself.
Asus P5W DH Deluxe
C2D E6600
2GB DDR2 667
560 Gb in 3 SATA hard Drives (80,160,320)
XFX 7600GT
XP Pro and Vista UltimateRC1
17" and 19" TFT monitors
This is a nice machine and, even though I am relatively new to computer building, I have had no problems thus far.

I like Daves and Mcbee's builds.

It's extremely important getting a system thats balanced, with no obvious bottlenecks between components.

Nicely done chaps.

I want Core 2 Duo too </sulk>.

But ill need DDR2 ram, mobo, chip and PCI-E graphics card, so its going to be an expensive upgrade, one I'm putting off for a bit.

No, don't wait,

Priorities Dave priorities.

Sell the Mrs, or just loan her out.

Get money for the moggy to further shampoo science.....

You need a core2.

You need it now.
