And I do NOT mean right now, but later, probably when they are "cheaper" (if ever Specs of current HD: Average Rotational Latency: 4.17ms Rotational Speed: 7200 RPM MAX. Interal Date rate: 973 Mbit/s Average Seek: 8.9 ms Buffer size: 8 MB Spin Up time: 7 seconds Manufactor: Samsung Space: 1/4 of a terabyte (250 GB) Specs of current monitor: Connection: IDE ID: SAM002D Max Resolution: 1792 x 1344 Misc: SAMSUNG SyncMaster 955DF (directly from the front of the monitor) Name: Samsung SyncMaster 905DF(X)/955DF(X)/MagicSyncMaster CD195A Response time: 5ms response time (I believe) Size: 19" CRT Helpful info about Computer: Connections it can take: USB, firewire, IDE (only for a monitor though) OS: Vista SP1 I think that's all the specs you need to them. |

| IDE for monitor? are you sure you got that right, because IDE is an internal connection for older hdd's. And from those, I would go for a new monitor first, unless you need more space, because a LCD monitor cann be bigger, use less power and drasticly increase desk space. I remember when I had a 17" CRT and changed to a 17" LCD how much extra space, it ment I could put my keyboard on the same level as my monitor and still have space to rest my arms as I type.

| Monitor. CRTs are heavy as hell and take up a ton of space.

| Guess I was mistaken it's VGA (I think). What ever: http://thetechnut.files.wordpress.com/2007/09/vga2.jpg is except blue and goes into the back my computer. Also it'd probably be helpful to me deciding, if you also said size monitor, amount of HD space I should get. etc. |

| Yea, thats VGA, and as for size of monitor/hdd to get, I don't know what you need it for, or your budget, so there isn't much I can do.

| For the monitor get as big as you can. You're eyes will thank you for it. For the hard drive, get a 500GB Western Digital. Job done ![]()

| No one can dissagree with that. But there is an even more important aspect to choosing an LCD/TFT over a CRT. CRT's project the image on the screen but the projection doesn't only stop there. A lot of it is getting trough the screen itself and straight to your head. I found that since I swapped my CRT for an LCD my regular headaches dissapeared completely (I'm not joking). At least I can now enjoy sitting hours behind my computer...

| Maybe some people are more sensitive to it than others. As I said, since switching to an LCD, I hardly got any headaches anymore while in the past I had them every other day or so. Coincidence…?
