whats you spec? spec leaderboard

right this thread is to list the 10 people on the forum with the best computer (not including peripherals), so post your spec and i shall put it on the leaderboard.
however it is not meant to make members feel their computer is inferior as the people in the top ten have more money than they should or spend more than they can afford

no i just ordered the mobo .... i got it all but the graphics card, the only thing stopping me is the fact that the graphics card and mobo are out of stock

also i will need help on what computer you think are the best

Mines aimed a being a media pc. I do a lot of vid encoding, photoshop stuff and the odd bit of gaming. Hence the 8800GT, and the 2tb storage. Would have preferred a lower spec card but I need some oomph as I'm running a 24" screen. The soundcard plays it's part also, replaces the Extreme music card in the X-fi range, EAX, Dolby DTS support although it seems to prefer analogue surround, still, it's rather cheap for the spec.

I'll be oc'ing as well though, hence the liquid cooling for the quad and the reference speeds on the GT.

Your spec is decidedly a gaming build Cewy, in games you'll have me beat by quite a margin although the oc on the quad (if you do) will come into this. I need a powerful all-rounder though.

We just have different needs.

Not so sure of a point to the leaderboard "Best" is open to interpretation dependent on what you want from your pc.

Using yours and mine as examples:

Is yours better because of the chipset?
Is mine better because it has more storage?

See what I mean?

It's nice to see people's spec's. I for one enjoy seeing what people have built up. But if you want a leaderboard SocialWarfare's 3dmark scoreboard is the one we should use as it's an easily understood benchmarking tool. Synthetic to be sure, but it has it's uses.

Your power supply, hdd, cpu, gpu (obviously) comes into the score you attain.

........But if anyone reading this thread wants a leaderboard let me know and we'll bung one on. This forum is for you guys afterall.

But we'll have to agree some criteria. I'll leave it with the members.
