im building a gaming computer, are these specs compatible?
Motherboard:
MSI G31M3-F
CPU:
Intel Pentium Dual Core E5200
RAM:
2G Kit-667 Kingston(2x 1Gigabyte sticks)
Hard Drive:
Samsung SATA 160Gigabyte
Graphics Card:
512M 9600GT Generic
Disc Drive:
Cheapest DVD-RAM Drive(To read every type of disc)
PSU:
Vantec ION2+ 500 Watt
Case:
Any that will fit the PSU

Yep, that is all fine.

Pretty good choices as well.

Change the PSU for one of these:

It is the best in it's class, despite it's lower rating.

Maybe change the hard drive for a Western Digital, that is more personal preference though.

Change to 4GB of RAM, it will change the performance on your PC massively.

I would be worried about the PSU's reliability first and foremost. If you can't find or if the Corsair 450 is too expensive, try one of Seasonic's models.

The 9600GT is pretty budget - you're better off saving a little money and grabbing at least a 4830.

The motherboard is fine but don't expect much overclocking - P43 is a better choice if you plan to do that.
