Default wirless issues

So, my new laptop finally arrived today. (in a 2 ft square box... wtf) and i formatted the ****er.

installed all the drivers fine. even the ones for the wireless adapter.. but when i try to use it it says "Driver not installed"

i thought maybe the drivers they gave me were faulty after sever attempts at reinstalling them so i used a usb stick to connect in an attempt to download the drivers from the net..
so i went to the device manager and it isnt there.. :S:S any suggestions on why it isnt showing?

the wirless adapter is a:
Intel® PRO/Wireless 802.11g

cheers in advance.
much love

Well by the sounds of it. It is the ethernet port that is causing the problem. The port sounds like it is not working - Are there any lights flashing????? on the port???

What happens when you right click on that yellow ! and choose Update Driver? Say Install from a List and on the second page choose Do not Search, then select the Intel driver which you said above that you had installed.

sounds like it. Perhaps the mini PCI card isn't inserted correctly. Is it accessible? Under a hatch underneath or possibly beneath the keyboard.
