Hi, im new here. And i was just wondering what is a cost effective but will also increase my performance, Upgrades and Etc. I really want to run Supreme Commander on med-high without lag, or stutters. My specs are

3400+ AMD Athlon 64 proccessor
2.0 GB ram
160GB hard drive
ATI Radeon x 1650 Pro
2.19 GHz

And another question, When watching cinamatics the voice lags behind the video. What can i do to fix it?

Thank you for anyone that helps me out

What's your budget?

I'd look at the vid card first if I were you, could be the answer to both problems.

But which one, and whether to do more, depends on how much cash you got to spend

The 3400 is socket 939 and very old. It's unlikely you will get too much use out of this, but if it's a PCI-E board you could try a 4850. I seriously doubt that will give you the performance you want though seeing as how the CPU is so old.

That's why I inquire as to the budget, if theres a couple of hundred or so to play with, we can easily get a new motherboard/CPU and GPU.

Your specs should be enough to run Supreme Commander as it states a 3.0ghz cpu and X1300 128mb gpu to run on recommanded
but if you want to upgrade-----
i would`nt as it would be too much money for too little gain best to build a new system

Well it could be S754 or AM2 aswell

Edit: After a little research its probably either S754 or S939

Thanks everyone. I don't really have a budget because i would rather know what to get and everything. Like if i should upgrade or just build a new one. And i have to run it by my parents.

Well with SupCom. It says it can run on high and everything. But it slows down.. ALOT. Even with a maybe 100 units on the map it will slow down. A lot of games do that on my computer like Company of heroes, WoW, and Warcraft 3 even.
