well i thought that the 680i chipset was a record breaking chipset like a year ago? the thing is i am on a tight budget so a p45 may be more expensive, but if anyone knows where i can get a sub £100 p45 mobo plz say. also in a way i am happy that i broke the hardware because i have learned by my mistakes and it better breaking my own hardware that breaking somebody elses while repairing their computer or something.

as 4 the hard drive i will go for western digital because i heard that they are very reailable and i have had 1 b4 and it was g00d.

cheers 4 the advise!!
If you can't stretch for a P45 then a P35 will do. Gigabyte ones are cheap.

reviews. all i can say is, i have heard nothing too good about the 6xxi and 7xxi series for OC. i know someone who has OC nicely on one, but many review complain about the chipset not being good for OC when in SLI.

Many people have excellent overclocks on 6 and 7 series boards and do dual / tri sli.

As I have said before, a lot of reviews are actually fairly unhelpful, because many people only review something and write about its poor performance when they can't get it to work.

But yes, a P35 or P45 would be a good choice. I think the P45 is FTW though, considering it is the replacement for the P35s

ding ding ding. we have a winner. it not just the reviews on the nVidia chipsets, tons of people who wrote really professional reviews, pictures, and tons of OC info, etc. said they were disappointed by it due to super hot chipsets, and problems overclocking,

I'd love to see these reviews, because its not something I've ever particularly noticed. They do get hot, but so do most boards when there overclocked. Thats why you can fit sinks etc.

What Nvidea chipsets are we talking about? 680i?

I'm not sure what you're on about with the ding ding ding

Back in the 650/680i days they were the best choice. Now they're marred by heat issues, SATA corruption problems, and instability.

Intel boards have almost none of these issues, seldom require northbridge fans, and are solid as a rock. nVidia's offerings have gone from little relevance to none now that ATI's made a resurgence.

im talking 7xxi series. they need serious BIOS updates from what i have read. I also have read that many 6xx series have video corruption problems.
