High tech indeed

Nothing as old skool here. Used to play a very old dungeons and dragons at a friends. Don't know what type of computer it was. I remember having to take the phone handle and insert it into some type of listening device to play it. This was around the time just before the first Atari game console came out.

Default YOUR COMPUTERS

Started off with a Sinclair ZX-80 which did nothing but smelling of burned rubber about 5 minutes after it was switched on. As soon as the ZX-81 came out, I got one of those and threw my ZX-80 away. After the ZX-81 came the ZX-Specrum-64 with a tapedrive. Had that for aobut 2 years before upgrading to a Commodore 64 with a floppy drive (You know, the 5.25" floppy drives that look as big as a medium tower case nowadays...

Got out of computers for quite a few years because I was concentrating too much on my art studies. Once I got back into computing again it was '98 and I started off with an Advent PC running guess what OS... Since then, I have built all my computers myself. Recently finished my fifth build.

Cheers:
Chris.

Default YOUR COMPUTERS

i can BARELY remember the earliest PC i had. i think it may have been a compaq. i can't even remember the specs. the most i can remember is that it used Windows 95. and that's about all i can remember about that pc.

and that was way back in my elementary school days and younger. say 12-14 years ago. and about 7 years ago, i got my other PC. a dell dimension 2400. integrated intel extreme video, 128 megabytes of 333mhz RAM, intel celeron 2.2ghz, 40 gig hard drive and a cd-r as well as a cd-rw drive. that served as a normal pc. i didn't do much gaming for a while until i upgraded it. i had my father help my install another 512mb of RAM. and that was the best upgrade i could do for a while. when i got to college a year and a half ago, i did some research because i was tired of my PC sucking so bad. i had nothing but PCI slots, so i looked for a card suitable, and that's when i got my ATI 9250 128mb. i was so happy. i finally had half-decent graphics and could finally play games like call of duty 2.

even earlier than both of those PCs was an IBM machine we got when we were only a few years old. still toddlers. i can't remember the specs. maybe my father might, but as you might expect, i would never have understood them. if i ask him, i'll edit the post and add them....i at least remember the very first game i ever played, and that IBM machine was both the first computer i ever used, and it was the first one we owned that could play it. it was the original Super Mario Brother's game. how about that? :D

First PC was ??? can remember the name , it was some giant white thing which i jammed Pokemon cards into the floppy drive, must of been 10 years old, then got a dell inspiron a few years back 3/4 and had that as a main ever since I've built around 10/20 comps from standard components from eBay/pcworld specs not amazing but more then enough for an average user(s) ideally for family use 90% xp home/pro and a few 98's.
