I just installed the AOL twice now but, after log off of AOL both trys, it shows the large dark bar that runs across the screen as normal. then, when it goes to the hour glass in the top left corner of the screen, that bar does not run across and accept the update just sits like that for about 30 to 45 seconds. then I get an error that pops up saying an AOL file or application is still running and won't allow the update to be installed and tells me to turn off the application but, I have no idea what that application could be since i'm off line. this is on my other pc which also, is running xp home sp.3 any help would sure be appreciated Thanks!

First thing I would do is get 9VR, which I believe is the latest AOL.

Hi, it seems I tried installing the Vista Ready version before and it would not install right. I know at my local Walmarts, they have the discs for AOL free and they have one that says Vista ready and another which does not say vista ready? so I don't know if there is a difference or not? but, I will se if I can find my VR disc and try again. Thanks!
I am running XP Home by the way.

VR is the latest version recommended to be used by AOL regardless of operating system.
When I call them on behalf of customers they always insist on getting VR before they will help further. |
