| I have some family friends who are total newbies, and they're really starting to irritate me. They cannot, simply cannot be educated - I've been trying for months.
I'd like a totally transparent firewall and antivirus for them. One that will try to update, and if it can't for any reason, won't complain, will just try again in an hour or two and see if it can update then.
I'd like one that has a list of applications, and if the executable has changed, it will still let it out (yes, I know that is a risk, but its better than them phoning me every single day to ask if its OK to click yes to this box that popped up, when its the same box it was yesterday, for the same flipping program that patches daily!).
I'd like one that will silently remove things that it is sure are viruses...
Does such a thing exist? If not, I really think theres a market for a firewall / AV application that just 'builds up' errors, and has a diagnostic mode for the 'qualified technician' that visits. Its getting to the stage where they want me to take the firewall and AV off, because the popup boxes are scaring them... :( |
