Well I did research the setup before buying and it all looked OK..I have heard that the memory may need voltage change and timings reset? The stock M2N E SLI gives the mem 1.8 volts but they do say that the mem needs up to 2.1 volts to run properly. I dont know how to go about this either or re timing..

OK Just got another blue screen. Rebooted, windows says it has recovered from a serious error. Microsoft message says it was caused by a device driver!!! Oh and the other message was "POOL" driver and not SPOOL...

OK This might be one for your info database. After yet another blue screen, even after all your good advice, I received a message from microsoft saying my system had recovered from a serious fault and that it was probably caused by a device driver. Now the only part that I had replaced was my network card. I had been using a bt one and had switched to a net gear one that I had bought a few years ago and onlt used for a week.
So I switched back to the BT one and just to make sure, took the remaining 2Gb of ram out and replaced it with the stick I had removed earlier. Are you still with me? I did this incase I was using a dodgy stick of ram.
Well the puter fired up right away and we used it all last night without a blip. I deliberately put it under load and switched quickly from page to page but it took it all nicely. Just as well really as the 4 x 512 mem sticks that are in my old setup, didnt fit anyway. Thanks again for your help guys, it was very much appreciated.
