I just bought a pioneer DVD burner and was about to go out and buy some DVDs for it. Well when i get to the store im faced with more choices then if I wanted to buy a cd. Does it matter if I buy DVD-R or DVD+R, I know what blueray is and I understand double sided but not the + or - bit.

How modern is your DVD writer? A lot of older DVDs only supported one type of media - either + or -. Most modern DVD writers can burn both types. I think + is more common (it was marketted more aggressively) but the best thing to do is check your DVD writer, it should have it marked on the front what it can burn.

DVD drives will burn - some will do + some will do dual layer and - and + disks. I had to check the DVD drive box to choose the best one it's a muddle at first one version is better for write speed the other is more compatible with normal DVD players. If your DVD rom can only burn + then it can't burn - disks.

Blueray disk is a totally different disk format and will only work with BluRay drives it is the format invented to store HD movies which require far more data capacity for the 5X more image detail and better sound detail than old fashioned DVD movies.

HD movies will only play on PCs with a HD graphics card and a BluRay drive. The first HD cards are out in November.

It will be better to you to select DVD+R. since because DVD+R it is better than DVD-R. it is double sided and that is single sided. more n more you can write on DVD+R this but not on that. so please choose DVD+R.

They had multiple accounts, all been banned in the past for spaming. They (This network) seem to think if they post a lot then spam later we somehow miss it. Or they create multiple accounts, ask a question like where can I buy x, then reply with spam on another account. If only they didn't bring so much attention to themselves by posting loads and loads, giving crap advice and digging up old threads. You're wasting you time guys, staff have seen it all before.
