Hey yesterday i turned my acer 5102 WLMi laptop off for the night . I woke up to find that it would turn on but after the windows xp loading sign came on ( with the scrolling loading bar) for a few seconds it would shutdown and boot back up and go in an endless loop until the battery was taken out. I need to know how to solve this problem . Thank you.

Processor: AMD Turion TL50 1.6ghz dual core

Video Card: ATI radeon xpress 1300

Running windows xp home edition

120gb PATA HDD

1 GB of DDR2 RAM

Have a look in Device Manager/IDE ATA ATAPI Controllers .... right click each channel, select Properties/Advanced ......... you should then find your CD Drive & which IDE Channel you need.

Having said that ..... is there not an Acer Recovery Disk, with this model ?

well i cant even acess windows the furthest i can get is to the windows loading screen and the bios.I do have acer recovery disks but i dont know if there meant to run without an interface like the windows xp cd is. My only problem now is trying to find the right boot order , so that my windows xp cd is recognized.

Normally the Recovery Disk(s) will return the Laptop to factory settings .... try rebooting with the Recovery disk and see if you are presented with Recovery options.
