Default Changed Word, Can't Find Recovered Document

Hey guys! I'm new to the site, had a quick question:

I wrote a document on my computer at work, with Microsoft 2003. Shortly after I finished writing it...but before I saved or printed it...the power went out. When the power came back on, I re-opened Microsoft 2003, and was relieved to see the document pop back up, with a prompt asking whether I wanted to save or delete the file...but I chose whatever option essentially said "I'll get back to it later", because I am an idiot.

Two or three days later, I was still ignoring the popup asking if I wanted to save it. And then, without any warning, I came into work one day and we suddenly had Microsoft 2007 on our computers.

And now I can't find the recovered document.

I DID find where Microsoft 2007 stores it's recovered documents, but the one I'm looking for isn't there.

Anybody have any thoughts on where I can find my Microsoft 2003 recovered document, now that I have Microsoft 2007?

Thank you so much for your help!

YES! Sorry for not doing this first, but here's what I figured immediately after posting this:

I didn't know what the file would be called...but I did remember a unique word in the document that wouldn't be in any other file (because I had made it up.) So I opened up the search tool, searched for documents on the C drive, hit "advanced search", and then typed in the unique word and clicked search. It popped up right away!

So...hope that helps anyone else who might be as lazy as I am.

Glad you found it. Search will find most things.

Best option in the future - save it while you can do so easily.
