Try Ccleaner and Spybot from the downloads section.

Spybot will get rid of any spyware and Ccleaner cleans any junk off.

Both cause slow PCs.

also defragment your drive.

I'm sorry if this is spam or whatever, but here is my website listing what you could do to make your computer run faster:

Why not keep the help in-house? Sending people to other sites defeats the purpose of this one!

Remove programs you no longer use or knew about:
Go to your control panel, Add\Remove programs and uninstall anything you no longer use.
You may find things you do not even know were there. Like toolbars.
Cleaning your hard drive of unneeded files:
A great tool for this is CCleaner. Download CCleaner Here
Remove invalid registry entries:
CCleaner has a safe registry cleaner built in.
Startup items:
CCleaner also has a startup manager. Click tools, then startup. You can delete any unneeded items from there. The startup loads drivers and some programs you may need, be careful removing items you are unsure of. Ask for help in the forums if needed.
Defragment your hard drive:
IObit SmartDefrag helps defrag your hard drive more efficiently.Download IObit Free Here

The makers of CCleaner are working on a defrag utility. Hopefully it along with CCleaner v2.0 beta will be out soon.

Absolutely!
It is good to run a spyware scan as well.
If you don't have Spybot Search & Destroy you can download/install it. Here
Check for updates now and get any updates.
Look for the Immunize feature in Spybot and use it.
Do not use the Teatimer function.
Run Spybot and let it fix what it finds
