 Compaq [FONT=Arial][SIZE=2]Hi y'all. I'm a senior citizen. Been computing for some ten years or so. Still not much good at it, can't remember how to do things I've done before.[/SIZE][/FONT][FONT=Arial][/FONT][FONT=Arial][SIZE=2]I'm upgrading my rig at present and want to reset my old junk to factory condition. IE delete my personal files.[/SIZE][/FONT][FONT=Arial][/FONT][FONT=Arial][SIZE=2] A Packard - Bell was easy by using F11. However an old Compaq desk top is proving more difficult. | Compaq PLease use the standard font and font size, thanks. To clear your PC do you have a XP disc?

| Compaq I just want to return the hdd to factory condition. IE delete all my personal files with as little expence as possible. |

| Compaq The easiest way is to get a restore CD from compaq, a quick phone call should do it. Otherwise it's buying Windows.
