I somehow crashed my laptop yesterday. I was told if it freezes up and will not power down to unplug it, and take out the battery. Well, I learned the hard way NOT to do that. I went to do the system recovery (trying not to loose all my pics, embroidery designs, music, etc...) but it gives me a message I don't like...

"All files, including data files, on the user partition will be lost and the original factory shipped files will be recovered to the user partiton"

Does this mean I will loose everything? If so, I need to get someone to back up my files, right?

Thanks for any info,
Trish

You are correct there, the system recovery partition will format your hard drive and put it back to how it was when you first brought it, all your files will be lost. If you are lucky you could try booting into safe mode, turning on the computer and repeatedly tapping F8 and try transferring your files onto a memory stick.
