Hi there,

I am new here and doing a project and researching information on operating systems and writing about there advantages and disadvantages over different operating systems, I have found information but seems to be dated while searching so wondering if somebody could provide me with some up to date information.

Could people please tell add some advantages and disadvantages for these over each other.

DOS (not MS-DOS)

Windows XP & Vista (vista not as much too new)

Linux

Mac OS X

Thanks in advance for your help :D

I'd love to participate but DOS is before my time and i have also never dabbled in Linux or MAC OS.

In the meantime can i ask how you found us? We have some new marketing going on and would appreciate the feedback.

Thanks

Dave.

I have used DOS, Windows (since first version) and Linux (several distros). There is nothing to compare between DOS and Windows because DOS was a command prompt based OS while we are now using GUI based OS's. DOS was a basic OS and you will still find it bundled withing Windows (the command prompt), in Linux it is the terminal tool. Between Linux and Windows my vote will go to Linux. I have not seen Mac OS.
