Default Compression Software

I am looking for compression software. I have a few files that are large and I would like to compress. Anyone know the best program that can do this. The program does not have to be freeware.

I tired WinRAR but when I compress something I have to email it to someone and I do not want to email things, I just want to compress them so that I can put them on another HardDrive. I also tried ZipGenius and I was not too impressed. I need a program that can compress video files, regular files to install large programs. Any recommendations. I will get something that needs to be bought, since my work covers it. So any suggestion will do.

You must be using WinRar wrong.

You don't have to email, you can compress to a file and save the zip on your desktop.

OH! Thanks, I see now. Thanks for the help, really appreciate it.

Is the difference from the fastest compression method to the slowest compression method really big?

Depends on how much data you are compressing.

I have noticed that WinRar on compressing Video Files is not too great, anyone recommend something to compress video files, I have about 20 video files that add to about 7GB. Anyone recommend something to compress Video Files, maybe I am just not using WinRar correctly?

What if you turn up the compression, but obviously it will be slower to compress.

Have you considered burning your videos onto a disk and using them as needed.
If you compress them you are going to loose some quality in them.

EDIT You have the potential to loose quality.
