There is one other way that you may be able to rescue your Data.
You could download Puppy Linux from
here, burn the iso to a blank disk and boot from this.
Puppy Linux is a self contained OS and will allow you to browse your HDD and save any data you wish, to an external drive or memory stick.
It may require a bit of reading, to familiarise yourself with the workings of Linux, but it is is fairly simple to use and the downloadable manual is fairly good ..... or have a look at
this thread for more of an explanation of how it works
