About 3 months ago I had to reformat my dell inspirion 1721 it has windows vista on it and has been update with all service packs.

Last week after multiple uses and no messing around with any programs I started to get this error:

Dell Media Direct:
Cant access disk cause bit locker turned off.

Then my computer turns off. But when I turn it back on it runs fine till the next time it gets turned off and restarted. So it seems to be about everyother time it crashes.

Any suggestions on what I can do?

Enter BIOS on boot up and navigate to "32-bit locking" or something similar, and enable it.

Save and exit BIOS, then reboot.
