Default Desk Top Photo problem

Whenever I choose a photo for my desktop, it never seems to fit exactly. They are either to big, for instance if there are three people in the photo, it will only show a real close up of part of the photo. On the other hand choose a different photo and I end up with a big black border around the photo. I dont know what has caused this problem, because it never used to be like that. Can anyone help to solve this problem.

Default Desk Top Photo problem

Go into control panel, display then desktop background or something like that and there is a option there to change the size(fit to screen, stretch)
I'm using Vista at the moment so cant remember the exact path but I hope you can find it from those details
