Default diskless recovery

hey there. i have just purchased a new laptop, hp g6062ea. it does not come with a recovery cd, but has its own partition on the hard drive with the recovery files. it recommends i make my own disk as soon as, but if i do that, can i erase the files from the partition on my hd? my gripe is that it was advertised as 120gb hd, when 11.05gb is taken up with these files!!!! thats a fair amount of space! what is the best thing i can do? im running vista. i only set it up today, so im new to this OS. also, can i delete all the hp rubbish off it? im sure it slows my start up down. thanks guys.

Make the discs as suggested and you should be fine deleting the partition.

I have an HP too and removed all their junk via add/remove programs with no issues.

i have also just discovered another problem. my hd main partition is saying that 39 gb is used, but when you look at the properties of the main folders, eg windows, prog files, downloads etc, it only adds up to about 15/16gb? any ideas where the rest is? i use AVG anti virus and it aint detected nothing, except a voyager.agent, which it dealt with accordingly?

well It's usually best to start a new topic with a new problem, but all the other files, will probably be hidden files, try going to Tools>Folder options>View>Show hidden files and folders, also the system files will be hidden, in that same window click show system files, this should show all files, and therefore should all add up.
